Basketball Recap: Mercer Takes a Loss

Mercer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 62-43 to the Tri-County Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, with their most recent defeat being a 64-45 loss back in January.

Mercer's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Tri-County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mercer will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Trenton at 7:30 p.m. on February 17th. Tri-County will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Grundy County/Newtown-Harris at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th.
