Softball Recap: Elysian Fields Wins Going Away Against Carlisle

Elysian Fields won against Carlisle last Tuesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Yellowjackets blew past the Indians 15-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 last Tuesday.

Kaylen Commander was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Madi Owens was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Elysian Fields always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carlisle only posted an OBP of .308.

The victory made it two in a row for Elysian Fields and bumps their season record up to 5-20. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Carlisle, they dropped their record down to 0-23 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Elysian Fields will face off against rival Harleton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Carlisle is set to take on their familiar foe Waskom at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
