Baseball Game Preview: Mountain View Lobos vs. Fabens Wildcats

For the second straight game, Mountain View will face off against Fabens. The Lobos will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Monday, Mountain View needed a bit of extra time to put away Fabens. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lobos have posted since April 2, 2025.

Emmanuel Martinez spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Mountain View is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-10-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Mountain View saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gerardo Gandara, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double was Gandara's first of the season.

Mountain View's win bumped their record up to 9-11-1. As for Fabens, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10.
