Baseball Recap: George Jenkins Wins Going Away Against Winter Haven

George Jenkins never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Winter Haven Blue Devils with a sharp 10-0 win. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Revy Gomez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 5.2 innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hayden Bartlett, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Brayden Abdon was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

George Jenkins kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Jensen Beach's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so George Jenkins' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Winter Haven, they will challenge Inspiration Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Inspiration Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
