Basketball Recap: Shorewood Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Shorewood can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 56-49 victory over the Mountlake Terrace Hawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 67-53 back in January.

Despite the loss, Mountlake Terrace saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jaliyah Dyson went 10 of 17 en route to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. That was a full 46.9% of Mountlake Terrace's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Jordyn Stokes was another key player, putting up seven points.

Shorewood's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Mountlake Terrace, they dropped their record down to 7-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Shorewood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-55 victory against Lynnwood on the 31st. As for Mountlake Terrace, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-40 win against Edmonds-Woodway on the 30th.
