Softball Game Preview: Keota Eagles vs. Sigourney Savages

Keota is 0-10 against Sigourney since June of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles will host the Savages at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Keota 3.2, Sigourney 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Keota will bounce into Monday's match after beating Iowa Valley, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Tigers on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Sigourney earned a 7-3 win over Colfax-Mingo on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Savages in their matchups with the Tigerhawks: they've now won five in a row.

The win got Keota back to even at 2-2. As for Sigourney, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Keota suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Sigourney in their previous meeting back in June of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
