Softball Recap: Saint James Beats LAMP for Their Sixth Straight Win

Saint James entered their tilt with LAMP on Saturday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Golden Tigers 16-2. Considering the Trojans have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Tatiana Shuford, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since March 1st. Arden Green was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Saint James always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .696. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as LAMP only posted an OBP of .467.

Saint James' victory bumped their record up to 30-5. As for LAMP, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Saint James has already played their next contest, a 5-2 win against Pike Liberal Arts on the 29th. As for LAMP, they will take on Charles Henderson at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
