Softball Recap: Pendleton Heights Takes a Loss

Pendleton Heights extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 6-8 in the process. They fell 7-3 to the Brownsburg Bulldogs. The Arabians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Pendleton Heights saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ari Rector, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

As for Brownsburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games.

On Brownsburg's side, Avery Toole tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tatum Hunt, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Kensly Larkin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Pendleton Heights didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-3 win against Frankton on the 28th. As for Brownsburg, they will welcome Avon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Bulldogs' favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Orioles have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
