Baseball Recap: Elberta Takes a Loss

Elberta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 18-2 to the Wetumpka Indians, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-2 on Saturday.

Elberta's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Wetumpka, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Elberta will square off against Brookwood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elberta has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Wetumpka, they are taking a road trip to face off against Marbury at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
