Recap: Whitesboro Bearcats vs. Paradise Panthers
The Whitesboro Bearcats were the 41-25 winner over the Paradise Panthers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Whitesboro was dealt a 52-25 defeat at the hands of Paradise on Friday. While losing is never fun, Whitesboro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 799th, while Paradise is ranked 184th).
It was another big night for Gazey Yates, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds for Paradise. Another player making a difference was Morgan Mitschke, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Whitesboro has fallen quite a ways from their 26-10 record last season and are now at 3-8. As for Paradise, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Whitesboro will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rains at 10:50 a.m. on December 28th. Paradise will be home for the holidays to greet S & S Consolidated at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. S & S Consolidated comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
