Basketball Recap: Justin Brock's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sarasota Christian over Gulf Coast HEAT

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sarasota Christian can now relate to. They lost 58-32 to Gulf Coast HEAT on Friday. The Blazers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Gulf Coast HEAT earlier this season, when they won 65-55.

Several Blazers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Justin Brock, who posted 11 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Brock has posted since back in December of 2024. Travis Miller was another key player, putting up seven points.

Gulf Coast HEAT got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Steven Scott out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 20 rebounds. Scott is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cayden Bosso, who went 8 for 18 on his way to 19 points.

Sarasota Christian dropped their record down to 14-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Sarasota Christian nor Gulf Coast HEAT have any future games scheduled.
