Soccer Game Preview: Coronado vs. Socorro

The Coronado Thunderbirds will take on the Socorro Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coronado's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for Coronado's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastwood on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Troopers are ranked 127th).

Meanwhile, Socorro entered their matchup against Pebble Hills on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Socorro fell 2-0 to Pebble Hills. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Bulldogs couldn't quite close it out.

Coronado's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Socorro, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.
