Basketball Game Preview: DeSales Irish vs. Sunnyside Christian Knights

DeSales hasn't had much luck against Sunnyside Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The DeSales Irish will square off against the Sunnyside Christian Knights at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with DeSales sitting on three straight wins and Sunnyside Christian on five.

On Tuesday, DeSales earned a 47-36 victory over Liberty Christian.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Sunnyside Christian against Riverside Christian on Tuesday as the squad secured a 51-22 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 25 points or more this season.

Sunnyside Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.8 points per game. As for DeSales, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

DeSales suffered a grim 46-21 defeat to Sunnyside Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can DeSales avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
