Preview: Yates Center Wildcats vs. Chetopa Hornets
Yates Center is 7-0 against Chetopa since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Yates Center Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Chetopa Hornets at 7:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 14 consecutive losses for Yates Center and 26 for Chetopa.
On Friday, Yates Center came up short against Cherryvale and fell 48-41. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Yates Center in their matchups with Cherryvale: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, Chetopa was beaten by Altoona-Midway 69-31 on Friday. Chetopa was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-15.
Yates Center's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Chetopa, they bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Yates Center against Chetopa when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 71-16 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Yates Center since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
