Football Recap: Wickenburg Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Wickenburg Christian Academy's offense. They were beaten by the Gila Bend Gila Monsters 30-0 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Gila Monsters are ranked 15th).

Wickenburg Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Gila Bend, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Wickenburg Christian Academy has already played their next contest, a 44-0 win against Sequoia Charter on the 17th. As for Gila Bend, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ajo at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
