Football Game Preview: Colorado Wolves vs. Sonora Broncos

The Colorado Wolves will head out to square off against the Sonora Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colorado is looking for their season's first victory.

Colorado is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Reagan County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wolves came up short against the Owls, falling 38-14.

Despite the defeat, Colorado had strong showings from Brandon Lee, who picked up 108 receiving yards and one TD, and Ace Mejia, who rushed for 42 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Sonora won against Reagan County last Friday with 38 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Broncos beat Christoval by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 38-14. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 24 points or more this season.

Sonora pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.7 points over those games. As for Colorado, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Colorado suffered a grim 42-22 defeat to Sonora in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
