George County's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Pascagoula Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rebels have posted against the Panthers since February 24, 2018.

Canyon Reeves made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

In other pitching news, Preston McAdory tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Reeves wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Blane Green, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

George County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Pascagoula, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.

George County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
