Basketball Recap: Crosstown Comes Up Short

If Crosstown was riding high fresh off their 74-12 takedown of KIPP Collegiate last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crosstown Explorers fell 82-70 to the Lakeland Preparatory Lions on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Explorers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-30 back in December of 2024.

Crosstown has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Lakeland Preparatory, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-10.

Crosstown is taking a road trip to take on Memphis Business Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Memphis Business Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. Lakeland Preparatory has already played their next game (against Douglass), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
