Basketball Recap: Harmony Science Academy Comes Up Short

Harmony Science Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mountain View Lobos. Harmony Science Academy was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Mountain View earlier this season, when they won 40-37.

Mountain View's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Omar Nevarez, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points and five steals. Nevarez is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Slosar, who posted 12 points and five assists.

Harmony Science Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Mountain View, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harmony Science Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bowie at 6:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Mountain View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Canutillo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Canutillo will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Mountain View surely won't give up without a fight.
