Softball Recap: North Mac Takes a Loss

North Mac was the 10-0 winner over Litchfield when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Purple Panthers on Monday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kyana Thiebaud was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season.

North Mac's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17-1. As for Litchfield, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10.

North Mac and Litchfield could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Panthers will face off against Springfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (487 vs. 120). Meanwhile, Litchfield (ranked 364th) will meet Greenville (ranked 145th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
