Recap: North Allegheny Tigers vs. McDowell Trojans
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the North Allegheny Tigers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 41-7 victory over the Trojans. The result was nothing new for North Allegheny, who have now won 11 matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Logan Kushner went supernova for North Allegheny, rushing for 89 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while also throwing for 174 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Khiryn Boyd, who gained 91 total yards and two touchdowns.
The win (which was North Allegheny's eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.5 points per game. As for McDowell, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-5.
North Allegheny will square off against Harrisburg at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Harrisburg: 16.8, North Allegheny: 17.2) so any points scored will be well earned. McDowell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
