Softball Recap: Safford Gets the Win

Safford's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Payson Longhorns. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Longhorns, too.

Safford's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trynity Dominguez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Safford hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

Safford now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Payson, they moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Safford didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Blue Ridge on the 22nd. As for Payson, they will challenge Benjamin Franklin at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
