Basketball Recap: Prince of Peace Beats Pantego Christian for Their Fifth Straight Win

Prince of Peace had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took down the Pantego Christian Panthers 55-41. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Panthers on January 7th, they had to take a 58-49 loss.

Despite the loss, Pantego Christian still got an impressive performance from Aj Brooks, who posted 17 points and three steals. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 18 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Jackson, who had 12 points.

Prince of Peace has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Pantego Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-12.

Coincidentally, Prince of Peace and Pantego Christian will both be playing Covenant the next time they take the court. Prince of Peace will head out to face Covenant at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Pantego Christian will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
