The Rosemont Wolverines are taking a road trip to take on the Colfax Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Rosemont's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Colfax's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Rosemont's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Cosumnes Oaks by a score of 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.
Nathan Coates was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Coates was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.
Coates wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was James Lara, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That hit was Lara's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Colfax got the win against Cosumnes Oaks on Thursday by a conclusive 9-2.
Like Rosemont, Colfax also got a great game from a two-way player: Jaimeson Rawlins. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Rawlins has posted since back in February of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Drew Stowers was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was David Cleek, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
The win got Rosemont back to even at 2-2. As for Colfax, their record now sits at 3-0.
Rosemont couldn't quite get it done against Colfax in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 as they fell 6-3. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
