Baseball Recap: Grayson County Comes Up Short

The Grayson County Cougars didn't have quite enough to beat the Union County Braves on Wednesday and fell 4-3. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gage Napier spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Grayson County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Fulkerson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Fulkerson also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Grayson County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Union County, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7.

Coming up, Grayson County will be playing at home against Hopkins County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Union County, they will head out to face off against University Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
