Basketball Recap: Central Catholic Skates Past Hempfield Area with Ease

There's no place like home for Central Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Hempfield Area Spartans 68-27. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-39 back in December of 2024.

Central Catholic is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Hempfield Area, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Catholic will challenge Canon-McMillan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hempfield Area has already played their next match (against Imani Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
