Softball Recap: Warren East Drops Season-High Score on Cumberland County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Warren East). They blew past the Cumberland County Panthers 15-6 on Friday. With that victory, the Raiders brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Autumn Brooks made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Brooks was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Lydia Jones was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Brooks, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Warren East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive games.

Warren East's record is now 5-1. As for Cumberland County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5-1.

Looking ahead, Warren East will challenge Franklin-Simpson at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cumberland County, they will square off against Metcalfe County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Metcalfe County will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Cumberland County surely won't give up without a fight.
