Football Game Preview: Allen Mustangs vs. Woodland Cougars + Official Tickets

The Allen Mustangs will challenge the Woodland Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Allen is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Allen against Gore as the team secured a 41-6 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.

Allen got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Quinton Box out in front who rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 102 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven passes. What's more, Box racked up 118.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September. Noah Bray was another key back, rushing for 120 yards and one score on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Allen was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 335 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 257 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Woodland unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 53-14 loss at the hands of Fairland.

Allen will have to contain Khamdyn Patterson as he made an impact in Woodland's last game. He rushed for 105 yards and a pair of TDs.

Woodland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Allen, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
