Basketball Recap: Tyler Villarreal's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dawson over Riesel

Dawson was the 50-31 winner over Riesel when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Dawson Bulldogs lost to the Riesel Indians at home by a 48-34 margin on Thursday.

Dawson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tyler Villarreal, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Evan Javier, who posted six points and eight rebounds.

Dawson now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Riesel, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Dawson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-36 loss against Bosqueville on the 5th. As for Riesel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-53 defeat against Mart on the 5th.
