Softball Recap: South Fork Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fortuna, South Fork was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Hoopa Valley Warriors. This was payback for the Cubs, who suffered a 10-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Mackenzie Coleman was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Perkins, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Coleman wasn't the only one making solid contact: South Fork kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

South Fork has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Hoopa Valley, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: South Fork beat the Warriors by a score of 7-1 later that day.
