Basketball Recap: Celina Triumphs

Celina lost to Van Wert back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Celina Bulldogs walked away with a 44-34 win over the Van Wert Cougars.

Katie Deamicis and Kendra Deehring certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Deamicis went 5 for 9 on her way to 14 points, while Deehring went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points and four steals. Deehring is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Celina's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Van Wert, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Celina didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-32 win against Botkins on the 27th. As for Van Wert, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 32-23 defeat against Jefferson on the 23rd.
