Volleyball Recap: Bexley Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Bexley proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since September 6th.

Bexley was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (110-105), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 26-24, 17-25, 21-25, 26-24, 15-12.

Bexley found their leader in sophomore Scarlett Larimer, who had nine digs and two aces.

Bexley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Mt. Vernon still got an impressive performance from Audrey Stuller, who had 35 digs and seven aces. With that strong performance, Stuller is now averaging an impressive 2.3 aces per game. Callie Swanson was another key player, getting seven digs and two aces.

Bexley has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Mt. Vernon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Bexley has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Columbus Academy on the 30th. As for Mt. Vernon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Utica on the 30th.
