Big Island I recap October 8, 2013
Hilo extended the longest winning streak in Big Island I this week by beating Konawaena, 21-16. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Vikings.
Hilo and the Wildcats played the closest game in the league this week, with Hilo eventually emerging with a 21-16 victory.
Kealakehe's Kaimi Wilson and Kuikanoa "Keaho" Kaakimaka led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Wilson has thrown for 383 yards this season, while Kaakimaka has 12 catches for 178 yards. David Baldwin's team's Tristin Spikes leads the league in rushing yards with 566.
The Vikings are in first place, while Waiakea is in third place.
Hilo made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,376 from 3,728. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 21-16 victory over Konawaena last week.
