Football Recap: Lincoln County Comes Up Short

Lincoln County played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Ripley Vikings 45-8. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-0.

Despite the loss, Lincoln County still got an impressive performance from Kody Adkins, who picked up 108 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 53 yards.

Ripley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cody Lawrence led the charge by rushing for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 64 yards. Jackson Moore was another key player, throwing for 103 yards and two TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes.

This is the second loss in a row for Lincoln County and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Ripley, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Lincoln County will challenge Herbert Hoover at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ripley, they will square off against Point Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
