Soccer Recap: New Hope Takes a Loss

New Hope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 8-1 to the Oneonta Redskins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Oneonta this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 two weeks ago.

New Hope's goal came courtesy of Timothy Gordon, who's now up to 16 this season.

New Hope's loss dropped their record down to 6-11-1. As for Oneonta, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Hope will face off against Ardmore at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Oneonta, they will take on Cherokee County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oneonta will be up against Cherokee County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.67 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
