Softball Recap: Hoosic Valley Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Hoosic Valley waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 23-1 margin over the Waterford-Halfmoon Fordians. That's more bragging rights for the Hawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Emma Gibson made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Gibson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lainey Bochette was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and seven RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Lucy Gibson was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and one run.

Hoosic Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hoosic Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Waterford-Halfmoon, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
