Volleyball Game Preview: Morgan Park Mustangs vs. Catalyst-Maria Wolves

The Morgan Park Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Catalyst-Maria Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Morgan Park came up short against Bogan and fell 2-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Catalyst-Maria entered their tilt with Horizon Science Academy-Southwest on Wednesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Huskies. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted since April 19, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Catalyst-Maria got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 23-25, 25-17.

Catalyst-Maria pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Morgan Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

Morgan Park was able to grind out a solid win over Catalyst-Maria in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
