It was a good run, but Mount Pleasant unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southwestern Randolph Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Mount Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Southwestern Randolph, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Pleasant will venture away from home to take on Cannon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Southwestern Randolph, they are taking a road trip to face off against Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
