Softball Game Preview: Heritage Patriots vs. Huntington North Vikings

The Heritage Patriots are taking a road trip to face off against the Huntington North Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

Woodlan hit Heritage with a six-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Patriots took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Huntington North might've scored the first runs on Monday, but it was New Haven who claimed the real prize. The Vikings fell 8-5 to the Bulldogs. Vikings fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bulldogs since on Monday.

Kayda Newman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Payge Gard also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Huntington North's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
