Basketball Recap: Dover-Eyota Skates Past Wabasha-Kellogg with Ease

It was a Battle of the Birds when Dover-Eyota challenged Wabasha-Kellogg on Friday. The Dover-Eyota Eagles took their game with ease, bagging a 74-32 victory over the Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Wabasha-Kellogg saw an underclassman step up: freshman Annalise Wobbe posted six points along with ten boards and three steals. Wobbe has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaina McCann, who scored five points and eight boards.

Dover-Eyota has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points over those games. As for Wabasha-Kellogg, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-21.
