Soccer Game Preview: Antioch vs. Emerald

The Antioch Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Emerald Aerouants at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Antioch's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Antioch fell victim to College Park and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, after soaring to seven goals the game before, Emerald was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against Deer Valley, falling 7-0.

Emerald's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13-1. As for Antioch, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8-2.

Everything went Antioch's way against Emerald in their previous meeting on January 6th, as Antioch made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
