Basketball Recap: Chetopa's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Chetopa's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Southern Coffey County Titans as the Chetopa Hornets made off with a 40-16 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hornets as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Lawrence Holt went supernova for Chetopa, dropping a triple-double on 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 16 steals. Jackson Lawellin was another key player, putting up seven points along with five boards and three blocks.

Chetopa's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Southern Coffey County, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Altoona-Midway the next time they take the court. Chetopa will head out to face Altoona-Midway at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Southern Coffey County will head out to face them at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
