Softball Recap: Illini West Chargers vs. Liberty Eagles
Illini West lost to Liberty on April 5th, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Illini West Chargers were the clear victor by an 11-2 margin over the Liberty Eagles. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Illini West.
Madalyn Boyer made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Boyer has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in 11 consecutive pitching appearances. Boyer was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with a home run and two RBI.
