Volleyball Game Preview: Joplin Eagles vs. Republic Tigers

Joplin hasn't had much luck against Republic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m.

On Monday, Joplin didn't have quite enough to beat Diamond and fell 3-2. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-21 in the first set.

Joplin took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-20, 17-25, 25-18, 15-7.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Republic, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Neosho with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday.

Republic never let Neosho on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-22.

Republic's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-10-1. As for Joplin, their loss dropped their record down to 1-17-1.
