Softball Recap: Union City Indians vs. Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles
Union City and Cambridge City Lincoln squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Union City had to settle for second. They came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 12-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-7 last Saturday.
Union City saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Blankley, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Union City has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.
