Softball Recap: Union City Comes Up Short

Union City and Cambridge City Lincoln squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Union City had to settle for second. They came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 12-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-7 last Saturday.

Union City saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Blankley, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Union City has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-13.

As of now, neither Union City nor the Golden Eagles have any future games scheduled.
