Baseball Recap: Woods Cross Takes a Loss

Woods Cross saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 6-3 to the Woodbridge Warriors. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly three runs.

Woods Cross got a good showing from Tyson Devore, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Devore has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Alex Razee and Kason Lythgoe did some serious damage despite the final result: Razee scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Lythgoe scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Woods Cross now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Woodbridge, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5.

Looking ahead, Woods Cross will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwood at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodbridge, they will take on Foothill at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Foothill's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so Woodbridge's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
