Softball Game Preview: Model Patriots vs. Lee County Bobcats

The Model Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Lee County Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Model is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.

Model is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Pineville on Wednesday. They fell 6-1 to the Mountain Lions. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Model saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josie Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bobcats on Monday. Lee County took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Breathitt County. Lee County's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Model's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Lee County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Model hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .407. However, it's not like Lee County struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
