Baseball Recap: Palm Bay Comes Up Short

Palm Bay lost against Melbourne back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Palm Bay Pirates fell 9-5 to the Melbourne Bulldogs. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jose Rivera was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Palm Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Melbourne, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palm Bay will face off against Satellite at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Palm Bay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Melbourne, they will take on Merritt Island at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Merritt Island also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 6.3 runs per game.
