Baseball Game Preview: Poudre Impalas vs. Windsor Wizards

For the second straight game, Poudre will face off against Windsor. The Impalas will face off against the Wizards at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Poudre hasn't scored more than a single run for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Poudre came up short against Windsor on Tuesday, falling 7-1.

For Windsor's part, Mason Jordan was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Jordan has posted since back in March.

Windsor has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Poudre, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Poudre has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Windsor struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts.
