Softball Game Preview: Stuttgart Ricebirds vs. Wynne Yellowjackets

Stuttgart is a perfect 4-0 against Wynne since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Ricebirds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Monday, Stuttgart was able to grind out a solid victory over Parkview, taking the game 11-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ricebirds.

Stuttgart got a big performance out of Lynnleigh Hosman, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kaci Cline, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wynne). Everything went their way against Trumann on Thursday as they made off with a 14-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won six in a row.

Wynne's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Stuttgart, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Stuttgart took their win against Wynne when the teams last played back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 10-3 score. Will the Ricebirds repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
